On 12 February,
we held our annual games day. This, however, was no ordinary games day, because
we hosted our very own "Soccer World Cup 2010"! The entire school took
part in a round robin of soccer games. Each house was split into "countries" and
the countries battled it out until the very end.
During the
semi-finals, the Grade 10 class performed the local Diski dance, which pumped up
the crowd for the finals. Taking part in the final match was the Dorset
House’s Netherlands team and the Graeme’s Uraguay team. They fought it out to
the bitter end with at penalty shootout in which Uragauy proved to be the
champions of the day, taking home the golden cup.
