TERM 1 NEWS FLASHES
On 19 March, VG’s first team tennis girls travelled
to Graaff-Reinet to participate in the annual
Quadrangular between Kingswood, DSG, Union High
School and VGHS. The girls spent the night in the
Union High Hostel before a busy day of tennis on
Sunday. Every girl played a doubles and a singles
match against her opposite number from every school.
Lots of strong tennis was played, with Union High
School winning the overall event, and VG coming 4th

CLARENDON MATCH
-The
top 12 girls travelled to East London to play
Clarendon. Although we were comprehensively beaten
the day was enjoyed by all. We lost by 18 games to
0.
GRAHAMSTOWN TENNIS CHAMPS:
Well done to Cassie Lister who
went through to the final round of the singles.
ALBANY
TENNIS: Cassie
Lister was selected
for the Albany U18 team.

MATCH -We
recently played tennis against DSG, with DSG winning
16-2. The girls had lots of fun and put up a good
fight. Well done to
Cassie Lister
and Nolene Dixon
who won their singles matches.

Beginners Tennis
– For girls who wish to learn how to play tennis
and also to develop a skill which takes time as well.
Social
Tennis
– For girls who enjoy tennis and do not want to play
competitively
B-
Squad – This is competitive team tennis
A-
Squad – This is also competitive Tennis and is made up mainly of first team
players.
