2015 Games Day

Pre Games Cheering

Victoria Girls’ High held its annual Interhouse Games Day on the 6th of February 2015.  The theme for this year’s Games day was One Wicket Cricket to show the school’s support towards the upcoming 2015 Cricket World Cup.  Teams within each of the houses battled it out to determine the top team from each house, these teams then played against each other in the semi-finals and the two teams that won that round then went to the finals.  The finals showcased a neck and neck match between Dorset and Graeme, in which Dorset House came out victorious!

This year the Spirit Cup was awarded to Dorset House, but a special mention must go out to the other houses for their outstanding team spirit and effort.

A special mention must also go to Yoliswa Gusha who set a new u16 high jump record, breaking the previous record set in 2004 by Louise Wolmarans, by a record 3cm!

The final positions for ‘One Wicket Cricket’ are as follows:

1st place – Dorset

2nd place – Graeme

Tied 3rd place – Ruthville and Thursford
